Hindustan Zinc makes two key top-level appointments

KOLKATA: Hindustan Zinc has appointed a Chief Operating Officer and a Deputy Chief Finance Officer to support its expanding operations. Pankaj Kumar will be the company's new Chief Operating Officer (Smelters) subsequent to the movement of Vikas Sharma in an elevated role as CEO of BALCO. A B.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur and PGDBM from XLRI Jamshedpur, Pankaj Kumar has his previous stint in Tata Steel, Mittal Steel, Sterlite Copper and Adani Ports.

The country's largest zinc producer has also brought in former CFO of Lafarge India, Sonal Shrivastava as deputy CFO. A Chemical Engineer from BIT Sindri and Masters in Management Studies from JBIMS Mumbai, Sonal Shrivastava brings with her rich professional experience covering Finance & Control, Compliance, Purchase, Legal, Audit, M&A, Capital Market fund raising, Strategy & Business development, Direct and Indirect tax, Shared Services and IT.

Both of these senior level positions will be part of the Executive Committee of the company. With expansion in the company’s mining and smelting operations, these positions will further strengthen the top-line management, an official statement said.
