2-day-old baby found dead

A two-day-old baby was found dead in a drain near Muthuraya Swamy temple in Kamakshipalya on Thursday.

The police said the body of the baby girl was found wrapped in a cloth and dumped in a drain. Passersby noticed it and alerted the police. Police suspect the baby must have been killed after it was born out of wedlock or must have died after being abandoned in the drain.

A case has been registered at Kamakshipalya police station.
