March 8, 2017:
United Bank of India has invited bids from asset reconstruction companies, banks, financial institutions, and non-banking financial companies to sell 38 non-performing assets, with total outstanding of ₹1,181 crore. The bank has invited bids from eligible buyers by Monday and expects to complete the sale of NPAs by March 27. United Bank has the third-highest percentage of NPAs. IOB tops the list followed by UCO Bank.
