Barley prices dropped by Rs 12 to Rs 1,528 per quintal in futures trading today after participants cut down their exposure, tracing a weak trend at the physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, barley for delivery in April month contracts was trading lower by Rs 12 or 0.78 per cent to Rs 1,528 per quintal, with the business turnover of 770 open lots.
Marketmen said the fall in barley prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to offloading of positions by speculators amid a weak trend at the spot markets on reports of higher output.
