DGSE Pardeep Sabharwal and DEO, Secondary Education Satinderbir Singh caught one person, appearing in place of his cousin in the history paper of the Plus Two state board examination at the Salvation Army Senior Secondary School.

The centre was set up under the open school scheme, officials said.

The accused was handed over to the police, while the DGSE ordered a probe into the incident and disciplinary action against the principal of the school.

A case was registered against the accused at the Civil Line police station, police said, adding that he was placed under arrest.
