A cake designed by Nirmala from 'Pumpkin Bakes'.
A few female cake artistes in the city collaborated to support the ‘Supporticon’ campaign which is about supporting children/ adults with special needs and disabilities.
All the artistes baked their own version of a Supporticon theme cake with an awareness message of understanding, loving, caring, respecting and accepting people with special needs in the society.
Then the bakers took an extra step to visit a school/ person with special needs, interacted with them, made them feel loved and gifted the artistic cake as a symbol of support.
They uploaded their Supporticon cake creation on Facebook under #baketosupport which has become a campaign now.
People from different countries and cities have started baking and gifting cakes to a school/ person with special needs in their locality.
The campaign is becoming bigger day by day and it is still running successfully. Now even small homebakers, amateur bakers and kids are baking simple cakes and reaching out to children with special needs and gifting it to them.
This campaign has succeeded in winning many smiles from people with special needs and is still winning many more.
