Kotak Mahindra Bank hits fresh 52-week high on block deal

NEW DELHI: Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank climbed as much as 2.75 per cent and hit their fresh 52-week of Rs 839.75 in early trade on Wednesday after 1.5 per cent of shares changed hands in a block deal.

The scrip was trading 2.02 per cent up at Rs 833.80 around 10.15 am (IST). Shares of the company opened at Rs 821.25 and touched a high and low of Rs 839.75 and Rs 821.25, respectively, in trade so far. Benchmark BSE Sensex was down 32 points, or 0.11 per cent, at 28,967.83.

For the quarter ended December 31, 2016, the company reported net profit of Rs 879.76 crore, up 36.61 per cent, against Rs 634.72 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

On the BSE, 277 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far as against average daily volume of 1.41 lakh shares in the past two weeks.

The stock had hit a high of Rs 92.65 and a low of Rs 91.15 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 109.25 on 30 October 2016. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 54.60 on 16 March 2016.

On a year-to-date basis, shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank have rallied 14.46 per cent till March 7, whereas benchmark BSE Sensex has gained 9 per cent during the same period.
