New Delhi: Delhi will receive widespread rainfall on Thursday and Friday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the Met department, dust and thunderstorm is predicted at a few places on Wednesday evening, followed by widespread rainfall on Thursday and Friday.
These showers will bring down the temperatures in the capital, with maximum temperatures dropping by at least 4-5 degrees Celsius, the IMD said.
The mornings will become chilly with minimum temperatures around 10 degrees Celsius.
The changes in weather conditions are mainly on account of fresh western disturbances over Jammu and Kashmir from Tuesday to Saturday, leading to the formation of induced cyclonic circulation over north-west Rajasthan and adjoining areas. Low pressure is also developing from north Rajasthan to West Bengal, covering Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
The weather conditions will lead to showers in the northern parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Punjab and Haryana will receive rain between Wesnesday evening and Friday, while Uttar Pradesh will receive showers on Friday.
Fairly widespread rainfall will commence over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh from Tuesday evening. The intensity and spatial distribution of precipitation will increase from Wednesday with fairly widespread to widespread precipitation over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, up to Friday and decrease thereafter.
Uttarakhand will also receive precipitation from Tueasday evening to Thursday and fairly widespread rainfall on Friday.
