PM Narendra Modi focuses on Gujarat after Uttar Pradesh campaign

GANDHINAGAR: After a long, hard and bitter campaign in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now all set to focus on his home state Gujarat, which goes to polls later this year.

Modi is scheduled to be in Gujarat on Tuesday for a two-day visit, where he will be attending a slew of programmes across Surat, Bharuch, Gandhinagar and Somnath.

While Modi will address a public meeting at Surat upon arrival in the afternoon, he will also visit Bharuch and visit ONGC plant at Dahej and inaugurate the cable bridge built on Narmada river.

The Prime Minister will also attend a meeting of the party office bearers at a dinner hosted by the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani at the Chief Ministerial Bungalow at Gandhinagar. He is expected to discuss the state elections scheduled later this year during the meeting.

On Wednesday, Modi will leave for Diu in the morning and then reach Somnath Temple where he will attend the meeting of the Somnath Trust along with Party President Amit Shah and Gandhinagar MP LK Advani, who are also members of the trust.

After the meeting, Modi will return to Gandhinagar and attend a meeting of the women Sarpanchs, organised on the occasion of Women’s day, before leaving for Delhi.
