Sugar prices met with resistance at prevailing levels and slipped by Rs 55 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today, largely dragged down by ample tocks following increased supplies form mills amidst reduced offtake by bulk consumers.
Marketmen said mounting stocks following steady inflow of supplies form mills against fall in demand form bulk consumers due to end of wedding season, led to a fall in sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices were down by Rs 30 each to end at Rs 3,950-4,020 and Rs 3,940-4,010 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also moved down by Rs 15 each to finish at Rs 3,650-3,745 and Rs 3,640-3,735 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Baghpat and Khatuli fell by Rs 55 each depicted in at Rs 3,670 and Rs 3,660, while Ramala, Anupshaher and Nazibabad dipped by Rs 50 each to settle at Rs 3,660 each per quintal.
