A bench of the apex headed by Chief Justice of Jagdish Singh Khehar, also comprising of Justices D. Y. Chandrachud and Sanjay Kishan Kaul has sought a reply from Central that why the old currency notes could not be deposited till March last.

The Central had in its notification said that old currency notes can be deposited till March last, but subsequently it withdrew its notification.
