Gurgaon-based SummerLabel raises angel funding

Gurgaon-based fashion and lifestyle discovery platform SummerLabel has raised around Rs 1 crore in its first round of funding from a clutch of angel investors based out of Silicon Valley and India. The startup has been founded by former Miss India World Vanya Mishra and Gurgaon based entrepreneur Apaksh Gupta.

Founded in 2015, SummerLabel features extensive profiles of lesser known private labels across the country – their specialities, location, price range, store opening and closing timings, ratings, reviews and catalogues, look-books as well as information on the nearest store based on consumers’s needs.

Since October 2015, it has created a community of nearly 7500 registered users and forged tie-ups with over 120 stores. The startup offers tools to private label brands in cities to manage PoS (point of sale) based payments as well their loyalty programmes and is looking to generate revenues to the tune of Rs.25 to 30 lakh by end of this calendar year.

"We are trying to help private labels grow into bigger brands and increase revenues by aiding discoverability. We are focussed on building tools such as influential marketing, PoS based payments systems and loyalty programmes," said Apaksh Gupta, Founder, SummerLabel which is focussing on metro cities. "We are also providing them a dash board like solutions which will among other things provide analytics on consumer behaviour, buying patterns etc."
