No demonetisation-related death was reported in Madhya Pradesh post the November 8 decision of the Centre to scrap high-value notes, the State Government informed the Assembly today.
No death was reported in the state following note ban, Home Minister Bhupendra Singh said in a written reply to a question asked by Jaivardhan Singh (Congress).
The Opposition legislator had asked the Government to provide figures of demonetisation-related death in the State.
Singh appeared dissatisfied with the reply.
"The Government has not given a proper reply to my question," he told PTI later.
The MLA claimed he has information that such deaths did take place in the BJP-ruled state.
"I have information and I am substantiating it further to corner the government on the issue," he added.
