Former Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel will present ‘Nari Shakti Awards’ to suceesful women

As the world celebrates International Women’s Day on Wednesday, the apex industry body, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) will bring together women leaders from the fields of politics, industry, entertainment and social work on a common platform to share success stories and current issues.

A special event marking the Women’s Day with a title of ‘Beyond Pink - The power of SHE (SOARING HEIGHTS OF EMPOWERMENT)’ will be held on March 8 here. The experts from a variety of fields and leaders will deliberate on the challenges faced by women in the current social structure and also showcase the success stories that have been around providing an apt example to many others. The day-long event to be held at the Hotel Pride Plaza in Bodakdev, will have former Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel as the inaugural speaker, who will also felicitate Nari Shakti Awards to Biking Queens from Surat, Shilpa Shah, former Miss India and Dhyani Dave, the chess player who holds the title of Women International Master, for their achievements.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) will be the title sponsor of the event, with Welspun India and ONGC as the industry partners and BusinessLine as its media partner.Ushma Anerao, Principal of Government Polytechnic for Girls will talk about the overall development of society in the context of women engagement; Hemali Boghawala, Director of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) will cover the aspect of women empowerment and decision making.
