The Paite Association (YPA) has called a dawn to dusk bandh in Lamka town of Churachandpur district of Manipur affecting normal life there today, police said.
The bandh which began at 5 AM was called to protest against the assault of two persons last night by unidentified assailants.
Transport service and business activities were affected by the bandh though no untoward incident was reported, police said.
Two persons, Thangsuanlal and Thangkhanlun Samte, were assaulted by some persons at around 8.30 PM last night. The two now being treated at Churachandpur District Hospital.
Two persons suspected to be involved in the assault case were apprehended, police said.
