Two minor siblings were

charred to death after a fire broke out in their hut near Imalia village in the district, the police said today.



"Shalini (8) and her brother Sahil (6) were charred to death in the blaze at their hut located in an agriculture field last night," said the district Superintendent of Police Katni Shashikant Shukla.

He said the father of the deceased siblings, Adiwasi, works as a watchman.

"The children were alone at home at the time of the incident as had gone to city (Katni) along with with his wife," the officer said.

A case has been registered by the Sleemanabad Police and investigation is on to ascertain exact cause of blaze.
