The entire project was designed with a concept to provide green cover in an area spread over 20 per cent of the total premises, it said.

The original quarters constructed in 1956 with load-bearing structures and lime concrete became dilapidated and unusable.

Therefore, new quarters were required to be constructed for the officers and staff members working in Raj Bhavan, the release said.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy were among those present at the inauguration, the release added.
