84 per cent poll in the first phase of polling in Manipur, figure likely to increase further
GUWAHATI: Voters turnout in Manipur first phase is likely to over 84 per cent. This excludes 28 per cent of polling stations in rural areas; data from these places are expected to reach later. The figures are likely to further go up.
While Imphal east recorded voters’ per centage of 87 per cent, Imphal west witnessed turnout of 86.9 per cent. In Bishnupur- around 87.8 per cent voter exercised their franchise while in Kangpokpi and Churachandpur voting per centage stood at 80 per cent and 68 per cent respectively.
In all, 168 candidates are in the fray in this phase.
