Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres was discharged on Friday from hospital, after being kept under observation for a strong blow to the head that rendered him unconscious at the Estadio Riazor stadium.

The Spanish international talked to the media while in hospital and confirmed that he is good, after recovering from the injury sustained in La Liga encounter with Deportivo La Coruña 1-1 on Thursday, reports Efe.

"Thank you all for worrying about me and for your messages of support. It's just been a scare. I hope to come back very soon!" Torres said.

While in hospital, Torres was visited by Deportivo player Alex Bergantiños, whose unintentional blow while vying for the ball caused the Atletico striker to lose consciousness.
