As the BJP continued its attack on Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, rape- accused Uttar Pradesh minister and SP candidate from Amethi Assembly seat Gayatri Prasad Prajapati remained at large.
According to the police here on Friday, the state government has withdrawn Prajapati’s security and has also started the process of cancelling his passport amid apprehensions that he may flee to some foreign country.
BJP state unit president Keshav Prasad Maurya said that Prajapati was hiding in the chief minister’s official residence though the police denied having any such information. “The police do not want to arrest Prajapati. It is only conducting a drama,” Maurya said. Sources said police teams are trying to trace the minister.
