Brazil's Tite calls up uncapped Benfica keeper Ederson

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Uncapped Benfica goalkeeper Ederson has been called into the Brazilian squad for World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Paraguay later this month, national coach Tite said on Friday.

Flamengo midfielder Diego and Sport forward Diego Souza were two other surprise inclusions in a squad that will be missing Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus, who is injured.

Brazil face Uruguay in Montevideo on March 23 and Paraguay in Sao Paulo five days later.

Brazil top the South American qualifying group, having won all six competitive fixtures since Tite took over last summer.

The top four sides from the group will qualify for Russia 2018 and the fifth face a play-off against a team from Oceania.
