The killing of IT professional Kuchibhotla Srinivas at Kansas in the US last month has rattled the Indian diaspora. The relatives of the NRI techies have been equally worried ever since the killing happened.

The Nasscom, the apex association of the IT companies, has appealed to the employees to gel well with the local communities. “The Nasscom is disturbed. We have raised concerns about such attacks. The whole (IT) community is distressed. We are with the family,” Nasscom Chairman CP Gurnani has said.

He wanted the IT professionals to integrate and become part of that society. “Wherever you live, wherever you work, it must be ingrained in your mind that you belong to that place,” he said.

He wanted the IT professionals to come out of the comfort zone of moving only around with people of one’s country’s origin. “Wherever you go, make an effort to be part of that society. Blend well with them. That is what we advise them at Tech Mahindra,” he said.

He pointed out that US President Donald Trump had condemned the killing in his speech two days ago. “Making America great again means people living in the US are treated great,” he said.
