As part of its nation wide initiative Project Masoom, Young Indians (Yi) is taking steps to spread awareness on child safety, particularly in Schools, among the parents and general public.
The initiative, in its second year, has already managed to reach over 10 lakh persons, since child safety was a growing concern with increase in violence against children right from labour, sexual abuse particularly in the age group of five to 10 years, project Masoom Co-Chair Priyadarshanini told reporters here today.
Yi conceived the Project Masoom to keep the child safe by creating awareness on child safety among young children, parents and other stake-holders, she said.
During this year, the project has set a target of reaching out to 25,000 children in the city and Yi is organising a talk show for parents and children with a Tamil orator, Bharathi Bhaskar on March five here, which would make them understand their roles and responsibilities, she said.
