AG's council may damage Kerala's interests: Cong

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 3, 2017, DHNS:
The Attorney-General’s council that the Supreme Court ban on liquor shops close to highways would not apply to bars would be detrimental to Kerala, state Congress unit has said.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president V M Sudheeran said on Thursday that the A-G’s counsel was aimed at protecting the interests of bar owners in the state.

“It’s a strange legal advice; it doesn’t carry much credibility because it was the A-G who appeared for the bar owners when they moved the court against the state’s excise policy,” Sudheeran said.
