Hindalco, Vedanta, DLF, ICICI Bank among most active stocks in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Shares of Hindalco Industries (number of shares traded: 1.38 crore), Vedanta Ltd (1.06 crore), DLF (0.99 crore), ICICI Bank (0.76 crore), Idea Cellular (0.70 crore), Tata Motors (0.68 crore), NTPC (0.43 crore), SBI (0.42 crore), SAIL (0.41 crore), ITC (0.37 crore), BHEL (0.30 crore), Axis Bank (0.30 crore), Bank of Baroda (0.30 crore), NHPC (0.27 crore), Tata Steel (0.26 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in the morning trade on Thursday.

The NSE Nifty index was up 42.45 points at 8988.25 around 11.35 am (IST), while BSE Sensex was up 151.19 points at 29135.68.

In the Nifty index, Tata Motors (up 3.45 per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 2.83 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 2.10 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 1.90 per cent), Hindalco Industries (up 1.77 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 1.72 per cent), Ambuja Cements (up 1.51 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 1.19 per cent), Coal India Ltd (up 1.19 per cent), ACC (up 1.12 per cent), TCS (up 1.09 per cent), BHEL (up 0.94 per cent), RIL (up 0.73 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 0.70 per cent) were among top gainers around the same time.

On the other hand, BPCL (down 1.57 per cent), Idea Cellular (down 1.46 per cent), Sun Pharma (down 1.17 per cent), NTPC (down 1.03 per cent), Dr Reddys Labs (down 1.02 per cent), YES Bank (down -0.68 per cent), PowerGrid (down 0.57 per cent) , Grasim Industries (down 0.44 per cent), Tata Steel (down 0.19 per cent) , ITC (down 0.17 per cent), ONGC (down 0.05 per cent), Infosys (down 0.03 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.01 per cent), HCL Tech (down 0.02 per cent), M&M (down 0.07 per cent) were trading in the red.
