has been named Managing Director of Mobility and has been inducted as a full-time director on the company's Board.

He will also continue to serve in the role of Executive Director for MBG

Mathur has been running the operations for MBG in since its inception here four years ago and has been instrumental in leading the seamless integration of and mobile businesses, it added.

"He brings an enormous amount of experience and with his distinguished track record in his prior assignments as well as at MBG, we are confident that Sudhin will take the business to greater heights as we challenge industry conventions and redefine the smartphone sector," MBG APAC Vice President Zhuliang Ye said.

Under Mathur's leadership, (along with Motorola) notched the No 2 position in the Indian smartphone market (by volume), according to research firm IDC.
