A 16-year-old Madhyamik candidate was killed on the spot and two others were injured seriously in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a speeding truck here today.

Janbaj Ansar was riding a motorcycle with two others on the pillion towards their examination venue at Panduah when a speeding truck crashed into the bike at Arti More here.



Local people called the police and the OC of Panduah, Suman Ray Chowdhri, arrived on the spot soon. The OC referred them to the Panduah Rural Hospital.

Later, they were transferred to the Chinsurah Imambara Hospital.

Two others Sahida Khatun and Nasrin Khatun Radharani are at a critical condition, SP Sukesh Jain said.
