A 28-year-old woman's throat was slit by her husband this morning in Samaypur Badli area in Rohini.
The deceased, Neha, was married to Praveen Rana since 2007 and the couple have two sons, said a senior police officer.
After the children went to school, Praveen and Neha allegedly had a fight and it is suspected that he slit her throat with a sharp object, he said.
He is currently absconding, so police are not sure what triggered Praveen to murder his wife.
However, Neha's family has alleged that Praveen was unemployed and allegedly harassed his wife, he said.
They have also alleged that Neha was upset about Praveen's alcohol addiction and the couple had frequent fights over it, the officer said.
Neha was working as a nurse in a nursing home to fund her sons' education and household expenses, he added.
Police are questioning Neha's family members and teams have been formed to nab Praveen.
