Sensex rallies over 100 points; Nifty50 reclaims 8,900 level

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Sensex rallies over 100 points in morning trade on Wednesday led by gains in HDFC, ICICI Bank, Infosys, ITC, and Axis Bank.

The Nifty50 reclaimed its crucial level of 8,900 supported by gains in realty, power, metal, consumer durable, capital goods, and banking stocks.
At 09:30 am: the 30-share index was trading 122 points higher or 0.43 per cent at 28,866. It touched a high of 28,894.85 and a low of 28,824.17 in morning trade.

The Nifty50 was trading at 8,914 up 35 points or 0.40 per cent. It touched a high of 8,920.55 and a low of 8,898.60 in the first 30 minutes of trade.

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was trading 0.46 per cent higher and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.55 per cent up.

Hero MotoCorp (up 1.5 per cent), Axis Bank (up 1.2 per cent), Power Grid (up 1.2 per cent), ONGC (up 1.1 per cent), and Maruti Suzuki (up 1.04 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers.

Tata Motors (down 1.04 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 0.1 per cent), and Wipro (down 0.06 per cent) were the major Sensex losers.
