Tata Motors Feb sales spurt 1.93% to 47,573 units

NEW DELHI: Tata Motors today reported 1.93 per cent increase in total sales in February at 47,573 units compared to 46,674 in the same month last year.

Domestic sales of Tata Motors' commercial and passenger vehicles were at 42,679 units in February as against 41,532 units in the same month last year, up 2.76 per cent, the company said in a BSE filing.

Sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market grew by 12 per cent to 12,272 units last month on the back of robust sales of hatchback Tiago, Tata Motors said.

In the commercial vehicles segment, the company's domestic sales were down 1 per cent at 30,407 units, it added.

Total exports during the month declined by 5 per cent at 4,894 units compared with 5,142 earlier owing to lower passenger vehicle shipments, it added.
