FIIs net buy shares worth Rs 9,359 crore this month till Feb 27

NEW DELHI: Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have bought shares worth Rs 9,359.49 crore on a month-to-date basis till February 27.

FIIs stood net buyer in the domestic equity market on Monday as they bought shares worth Rs 251.59 crore with gross purchases and gross sales of Rs 6454.69 crore and Rs 6203.1 crore, respectively.

The BSE Sensex was trading 9.22 points, up at 28822.1 in the afternoon trade on February 28. NSE Nifty50 index was down 1.95 points down at 8894.75.

In the Nifty50 index, Bharti Airtel ( 2.08 per cent) , Hindalco Inds. ( 1.99 per cent) , M&M ( 1.63 per cent) , YES Bank ( 1.23 per cent) , Zee Ent. ( 1.00 per cent) , Asian Paints ( 0.89 per cent) , Tata Steel ( 0.89 per cent) , BHEL ( 0.79 per cent) , Adani Ports SEZ ( 0.74 per cent) and Bank of Baroda ( 0.73 per cent) were among top gainers till 12.45 pm (IST), while BPCL ( -3.92 per cent) , Coal India Ltd ( -2.50 per cent) , Idea Cellular ( -1.96 per cent) , Grasim Inds. ( -1.81 per cent) , TCS ( -1.37 per cent) , Ambuja Cements ( -1.28 per cent) , Bajaj Auto ( -0.91 per cent) , Eicher Motors ( -0.88 per cent) , NTPC ( -0.88 per cent) , Bosch ( -0.81 per cent) were trading in red.
