Kochi-bound Air India flight makes emergency landing at Mangalore airport

Officials say there was some technical snag; details are yet to be disclosed

A Kochi-bound flight from Mumbai with 58 passengers and crew on board made an landing at the airport in Mangalore on Monday due to a technical snag.

"The flight coming from Mumbai and heading towards made an landing at 7.50 PM at the due to a technical snag," an airport official said.

He, however, declined to give details of the nature of the snag.

The official said the airline's engineers were looking into the issue and that the passengers would be flown to their onward destinations later tonight or tomorrow, depending on the time taken to rectify the problem.
