New Delhi, Feb 24:
Wind power tariffs closed at Rs 3.46/kWh in India's first-ever auction for wind energy projects today.
The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal, tweeted after the auction, "After solar cost reduction below Rs 3/unit, wind power cost down to Rs. 3.46/unit through transparent auction. A green future awaits India."
Successful bidders include Mytrah Energy, Green Infra Wind Energy, Inox Wind Infrastructure and Ostro Kutch Wind. All four had closed bids at 3.46/kWh for 250 MW of the project.
The bids were called by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 1,000 MW of projects.
