N Chandrasekaran elected chairman of Tata group's Indian Hotels

NEW DELHI: Tata Group hospitality arm Indian Hotels Company Ltd today said N Chandrasekaran has been elected as the Chairman of its board of directors.

"N Chandrasekaran has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company with effect from February 22, 2017 vide a written resolution of the Board," IHCL said in a BSE filing.

He was initially appointed as a Member of the Board on January 27, 2017, it added.

Chandrasekaran had taken over as Chairman of Tata Sons on February 21, becoming the first non-Parsi Chairman of the $103 billion Tata Group after heading its crown jewel TCS for years.

The 30-year company veteran has listed "enabling higher shareholder value" and making a significant and lasting social impact as his priorities as the Chairman of Tata Sons.

IHCL stock was trading marginally down at Rs 121.90 on BSE in the afternoon.
