Select telecom stocks, HDFC Bank and TCS among most active shares

NEW DELHI: Traders were seen most active in stocks of RIL, Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, HDFC Bank, TCS on Thursday.

Shares of Reliance Industries (Rs 1003.90 crore) , Bharti Airtel ( Rs 886.90 crore) , Idea Cellular ( Rs 656.44 crore) , HDFC Bank ( Rs 486.68 crore) , TCS ( Rs 271.90 crore) , IndusInd Bank ( Rs 243.93 crore) , ICICI Bank ( Rs 226.33 crore) , HDFC ( Rs 208.87 crore) , Vedanta Ltd ( Rs 175.31 crore) and Shriram Tran Fin ( Rs 172.94 crore) were among most active stocks in terms of value on NSE on Thursday till 12.40 pm (IST).

The NSE Nifty was trading 38.10 points up at 8965.00 in the afternoon trade.

In the Nifty 50 index, Grasim Inds. (down -1.42 per cent) , RIL (down -1.26 per cent) , Eicher Motors (down -1.06 per cent) , NTPC (down -0.84 per cent) , Bosch (down -0.82 per cent) , PowerGrid (down -0.79 per cent) , Axis Bank (down -0.76 per cent) , Ambuja Cements (down -0.66 per cent) , ICICI Bank (down -0.40 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharm (down -0.36 per cent) were among top losers.

On the other hand, Idea Cellular (up 8.30 per cent) , Bharti Airtel (up 4.56 per cent) , TCS (up 2.42 per cent) , Infosys (up 1.88 per cent) , HCL Tech (up 1.76 per cent) , Sun Pharma (up 1.37 per cent) , Hindalco Inds. (up 1.25 per cent) , Wipro (up 1.13 per cent) , Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.05 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (up 1.01 per cent) were trading in green.
Most active stocks in terms of value help investors to identify the stocks with highest trading turnover during the day.
Shares of VKS Projects, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., Vardhman Hold, Panama Petro, Jyothy Labs, Nilkamal Ltd, Arshiya Ltd, NBI Industrial Finance Company Ltd., TN Telecom, Avanti Feeds touched their fresh 52-week high. On the other hand FCS Software, Raj Rayon, BS Ltd, Ruchi Infra, Panoramic Uni, KSS Ltd, JMT Auto, Shekhawati Poly, Birla Cotsyn, Tera Software stocks hit their new 52-week low levels during the day.
