Airports Authority of (AAI) today declared an interim dividend of Rs 560 crore for the fiscal year 2016-17.

The public sector undertaking had paid a dividend of Rs 482.21 crore to the for the previous financial year and posted a net profit of Rs 2,537 crore.



An interim dividend amounting Rs 560 crore was presented to Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju by AAI Chairman Guruprasad Mohapatra today, an official release said.

The state-owned airport operator's topline had surged eight per cent to Rs 10,824 crore in FY16 on account of higher passenger traffic and aircraft movement.

AAI manages 125 airports in the country, including 11 international aerodromes, besides providing air navigation services.

With this interim dividend, AAI has paid a total of Rs 1,106 crore as dividend in the last three years, the release said.

The AAI said it has also contributed to the Rs 6,253 crore in different forms during the same period, apart from paying dividend.
