Copper prices traded lower by 0.41 per cent to Rs 403.60 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed positions amid sluggish demand in spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February month declined by Rs 1.65, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 403.60 per kg in business turnover of 1,071 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in far-month April contracts shed Rs 1.60, or 0.39 per cent, to Rs 406.90 per kg in 105 lots.
Marketmen attributed the weakness in copper prices at futures trade to tepid demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market.
