Four missing skiers rescued

Four skiers, who had gone missing from the upper reaches of Gulmarg skiing resort, were rescused today by a joint team of police and tourism department, a senior police official said.

"At around 7 PM last evening, Gulmarg police station had received information that some skiers had gone missing from Affarwat-Kongdori-Drang area.



"Soon, a rescue team, comprising police and tourism department personnel, was dispatched for a search and rescue operation," SSP Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain said.

The skiers were traced in Kharnala area at around 1 AM and rescued by the team, he added.

They were brought to Gulmarg by the team and admitted to a hospital where their condition is said to be stable now, the SSP said.
