A former Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) was arrested today in connection with an alleged disproportionate assets case in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The State Vigilance Organisation has arrested then TSO Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Department, Shabir Ahmed Magary of Thrintha village in Reasi district in a case of 2012, a SVO officer said.
The TSO during his posting in CA&PD Department had accumulated huge movable and immovable assets through corrupt practices which are disproportionate to his known sources of income, he said.
The accused has huge bank balances, land at different places, palatial house at Thrintha Reasi and is also running a steel fabrication shop there in the name of his wife, the officer said.
He is also in possession of luxurious household articles.
An investigation is underway in the matter.
