TCS, Axis Bank, DRL, Tata Steel among most active stocks in terms of value

NEW DELHI: A day after announcing a mega share buyback of Rs 16,000 crore, shares of IT behemoth TCS were the most active in terms of value at Rs 484.24 crore on Tuesday.

Here are some of the other stocks that zoomed in terms of value in afternoon trade.

Shares of TCS ( Rs 482.24 crore), Axis Bank ( Rs 371.21 crore) , Dr Reddys Labs ( Rs 280.51 crore) , Tata Steel ( Rs 259.65 crore) , Infosys ( Rs 244.95 crore) , Tata Motors ( Rs 195.32 crore) , ICICI Bank ( Rs 183.80 crore) , IndusInd Bank ( Rs 178.04 crore) , Vedanta Ltd ( Rs 167.21 crore) , ITC ( Rs 147.06 crore) were among most active stocks in terms of value around 12.55 pm (IST) on NSE on Tuesday.

The NSE Nifty was trading 11.55 points down at 8867.65 around the same time on Tuesday.

Shares of Bharti Infratel (down -3.92 per cent) , Bharti Airtel (down -2.05 per cent) , Tata Power (down -1.35 per cent) , ITC (down -1.33 per cent) , TCS (down -1.11 per cent) , Zee Entertainment (down -1.00 per cent) , M&M (down -0.75 per cent) , Sun Pharma (down -0.70 per cent) , Coal India Ltd (down -0.67 per cent) and HDFC Bank (down -0.59 per cent) were among top losers in the NSE Nifty index in the afternoon trade.

On the other hand, Axis Bank (up 2.27 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 1.63 per cent), YES Bank (up 1.14 per cent), Grasim Industries (up 1.05 per cent), Asian Paints (up 0.99 per cent) , BPCL (up 0.90 per cent) , Aurobindo Pharm (up 0.80 per cent) and Hind. Unilever (up 0.75 per cent) , BHEL (up 0.72 per cent) , HCL Tech (up 0.71 per cent) were trading in red.

Most active stocks in terms of value help investors to identify the stocks with highest trading turnover during the day.

Salona Cotspin, Jindal Worldwide, ISMT Ltd, HOV Services, Pearl Polymers, Future Retail Ltd., Jindal Saw, JSPL, Merck Ltd and Tarmat Ltd are some of the stocks which touched their fresh 52-week high in today’s trade.

On the other hand, BS Ltd, DB International, Pennar Engineered Building Systems, Birla Cotsyn, FCS Software, Raj Rayon, Tricom India, Rasoya Proteins, KSS Ltd stocks hit their new 52-week low levels during the day.
