Diageo opens new business service centre in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Global leader in beverage alcohol, Diageo today said it has officially opened its latest business service centre, Diageo Enterprise Operations - Bengaluru,' here.

Formerly known as 'Diageo Business Services - India,' it was inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in the presence of Ivan Menezes, Chief Executive Diageo, Brian Franz, Chief Productivity Officer Diageo, Ulrica Fearn, General Manager Enterprise Operations and Anand Kripalu, Managing Director & CEO, United Spirits Limited (USL).

Diageo continues to be committed to India and Karnataka through its investment in the state, the company said in a release here.

Following a successful start to its operations in October 2016, Diageo's shared service centre in Bengaluru situated near the Nagavara, has already trebled its workforce to 300 with the expectation that this number will double by the end of the calendar year, it said.

"Diageo facility that we are inaugurating today is one of the 5 shared business centers we have globally.

Over the next 3 years, its likely to become Diageo's biggest business center, supporting customers, suppliers and employees... providing services to 70 global markets for Diageo," Diageo Chief Executive Ivan Menezes said.

He said, "We will complete hiring over 1000 in the next couple of years."

Soon Diageo Enterprise Operations will be offering new services in the technical IT area, data, analytics and technology as well as establishing a robotics centre of excellence, the company said adding that its in-house centre is offering world-class business services and an open, exciting and dynamic culture.

It has already created a vibrant and diverse environment living up to its promise of offering exciting career opportunities for those who wish to make a difference for themselves, the organisation and the local community, it added.

"This operation is an important part of our global shared services network, providing Diageo customers, suppliers and employees around the world with high quality services, as well as enabling us to drive efficiency and consistency," Diageo Chief Productivity Officer Brian Franz said.
