Jet Airways extends rally to fourth session, SpiceJet jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: Extending its gains to fourth straight session, shares of Jet Airways advanced over 5 per cent in Tuesday trade amid positive momentum seen in other aviation stocks like SpiceJet and InterGlobe Aviation on media reports that airlines have been raising fares lifted by strong growth.

Shares of Jet Airways jumped 5.17 per cent to hit a high of Rs 402.75 on BSE. The scrip has risen 12.87 per cent in four sessions to Tuesday. Recently, there were reports that Jet Airways is selling coupon booklets that will give the customer access to a number of flights at a fixed price -- a move seen to attract more corporate travellers to its international network.

The Jet Global Pass, the carrier said, enables the customer to hedge against fluctuations in fares. When booked late, the coupon holder gets the benefit of a lower fare than the prevailing price for spot-booking. If booked early, Jet has the advantage of getting higher yields than what it is selling its inventory for at that time. There is no cancellation or rescheduling fee.

At 11 am, SpiceJet was trading 5.02 per cent higher at Rs 67.95. InterGlobe Aviation was up 1.38 per cent at Rs 844.
