Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, Vedanta, Hindalco among most active stocks in terms of value

NEW DELHI: Domestic equity markets perked up by nearly 40 per cent on Monday, fuelled by rise in Tata Steel, GAIL and TCS shares.

These are the scrips that stood among most active in terms of value on the day.

Shares of Tata Steel ( Rs 218.39 crore) , Sun Pharma ( Rs 207.87 crore) , Vedanta Ltd ( Rs 205.19 crore) , Hindalco Inds. ( Rs 195.03 crore) , Maruti Suzuki ( Rs 171.11 crore) , Reliance Industries ( Rs 168.64 crore) , HDFC Bank ( Rs 167.78 crore) , Idea Cellular ( Rs 167.07 crore) , Tata Motors ( Rs 158.53 crore) and Lupin ( Rs 149.82 crore) were among most active stocks in terms of value on NSE on Monday.

The NSE Nifty was up 28.70 points at 8850.40 around 1 pm (IST).

In the Nifty 50 index, YES Bank (down -0.87 per cent) , Hindalco Inds. (down -0.84 per cent) , Bosch (down -0.82 per cent) , ITC (down -0.76 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (down -0.70 per cent) , Axis Bank (down -0.63 per cent) , Cipla (down -0.50 per cent) , Dr Reddys Labs (down -0.44 per cent) , Infosys (down -0.44 per cent) and M&M (down -0.32 per cent) were trading in red.

On the other hand, HDFC (up 5.83 per cent) , Idea Cellular (up 3.21 per cent) , Tata Steel (up 2.94 per cent) , GAIL (up 2.35 per cent) , BPCL (up 2.21 per cent) , Asian Paints (up 1.79 per cent) , Tata Power (up 1.78 per cent) , TCS (up 1.75 per cent) , PowerGrid (up 1.70 per cent) and Hind. Unilever (up 1.66 per cent) were trading in green.

Most Active stocks in terms of value help investors to identify the stocks with highest trading turnover during the day.

Shares of Tarmat Ltd, Kamat Hotels, JSPL, Goldstone Infra, PPAP Auto, Merck Ltd, Greaves Cotton, Dilip Buildcon Ltd., Punjab Chemical, SAL Steel Ltd are the stocks which touched their fresh 52-week high.

On the other hand Birla Cotsyn, MT Educare, BS Ltd, DB International, Pennar Engineered Building Systems Ltd., KSS Ltd, Rasoya Proteins, Gangotri Text, Raj Rayon, Pricol Ltd. stocks hit their new 52-week low levels during the day.
