NCP won't support Fadnavis govt if Sena pulls out: Sharad Pawar

MUMBAI: Nationalist Congress Party Chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday challenged the Shiv Sena to withdraw support to the BJP government in Maharashtra.

Pawar while speaking to media persons almost taunted the Sena by claiming that the latter was not going to withdraw support to the Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra.

He also emphatically denied that he would support the Fadnavis government in the event that the Sena withdraws support. " I am ready to write a letter right now in our party's letter head to the Governor informing him that we are not going to support the BJP government, if the Sena is willing to write a letter to the Governor informing him that they are going to withdraw support,"Pawar said.

The Fadnavis government in Maharashtra has 121 MLA's and is 23 short of a majority in the Maharashtra Assembly, it is being supported by the Shiv Sena which has 60 MLA's.
