Gammon India shares gain over 4% as net loss narrows in Q3

NEW DELHI: Shares of Gammon India advanced over 4 per cent in early trade on Thursday after net loss of the company narrowed down to Rs 20.53 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016 against net loss of Rs 119.06 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The scrip was trading 3.53 per cent up at Rs 12.62 around 9.33 am (IST). Shares of the company opened at Rs 12.64 and touched a high and low of Rs 12.75 and Rs 12.59, respectively, in trade so far. Benchmark BSE Sensex was trading 21.62 points, or 0.08 per cent, up at 28,177.18.

The company’s income from operations declined to Rs 717.56 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 818.83 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Total expenditure of the company declined to Rs 639.21 crore during the quarter as against Rs 830.21 crore in the same quarter a year-ago.
