Airports in Kerala recorded over 57,140 e-visa tourists in 2016, as against 25,395 in 2015. Introduction of e-tourist visa has contributed significantly to the 125 per cent increase in tourist arrivals, which clocked in at 16,848 from 91 countries at Thiruvananthapuram and 40,292 from 110 countries at Kochi. The UK tops the list with a 26.92 per cent share. The US and Germany rank second and third. “We areplanning to expand e-visa facilities to more countries with a view to boosting the inflow,” said UV Jose, Director.
