Sminq acquires CodePandora

PUNE: Pune-headquartered queue management startup Sminq announced that it had acquired CodePandora, a UX focused software services firm on Tuesday. Backed by Saama Capital and Blume Ventures, Sminq provides real-time availability information at doctors’ clinics to help users avoid waiting in queues.

The deal is believed to be in multiples of few million rupees, with majority being equity, though the company declined to disclose the exact valuation or transaction details.

Shachin Bharadwaj, CEO, Sminq, said, "CodePandora team has been one of our technology partners for the last one year & we loved the quality of work that their team delivered and hence this was a perfect match for us." The entire technology team of CodePandora has now transitioned to Sminq and will help build the product further. All team members will be part of the stock rewards program at Sminq.

CodePandora was founded by Bjorn Mascarenhas in September 2012 in Pune and provides high-quality UX focused software services to clients in India and overseas. "We strongly believe in team Sminq's approach towards addressing the queuing & availability problem. Our mission has always been to develop exquisitely designed software, and we're now excited to carry forward this focus at Sminq to help realise a broader vision, together," said Mascarenhas, CEO, CodePandora. In his new role, he will head the UX function at Sminq.

Sminq is currently being used by over 100 doctors in Pune, and over 200,000 patients have used this service. Prior to setting up Sminq, Bharadwaj was co-founder of meal delivery service TastyKhana which was later acquired by Foodpanda in 2014.
