Bharat Financial to grow ties with IndusInd

KOLKATA: Amid growing talks of merger with IndusInd Bank, Bharat Financial Inclusion today said it is looking to grow business relationship with the private lender.

“IndusInd is a very important funding side partner for us. They are a big bank, and if there is something more (merger), our board has to decide on that,“ Bharat Financial Inclusion Managing Director MR Rao told ET Now in an interview.

Bharat Financial works as a business correspondent (BC) for IndusInd Bank in select locations covering 100 branches. All the business in 100 branches are in books of IndusInd Bank.

“There is always a discussion how can we take this to the next level. It could be can we open more branches under the BC route,“ Rao said.

Investors of Bharat Financial are upbeat about the possibility of a merger.The stock price rose to Rs 824.95 on BSE from Rs 619 in a month.
