Admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas to be online from this year

NEW DELHI: All the admissions to the HRD ministry-run Kendriya Vidyalayas will be made online from the upcoming academic session.

"All KVs student admission is going to be online in 2017," HRD minister Prakash Javadekar said in a tweet today.

The HRD ministry is planning a series of reforms in the Kendriya Vidyalayas which range from creating a suitable transfer policy for their employees to boost academic standards.

The ministry is also learnt to have been mulling creating a criteria according to which the students from poorer sections have a greater chance of getting admissions in these schools.

There are around 1,000 Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country.
