Cotton prices increased on the back of strong demand from domestic mills and fresh export enquiries. Though the gain was limited as buyers were not willing to buy at high price. Tight supply of the commodity also supported the price to go up.

Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton was up ₹200 to ₹42,200-42,500 per candy of 356 kg. About 45,000 bales of cotton arrived in Gujarat and 1.89 lakh bales arrived in India.

Kapas or raw cotton was increased by ₹10 to ₹1,100-1,165 per 20 kg and gin delivery kapas stood at ₹1,165-1,185 per 20 kg.
